I'm the founder of Mr. Proofread and a passionate English language professional. I started my career as an English teacher in Korea where I acquired the fine art of ESL writer development. After Korea, I returned to my home country of England (in the UK) where I completed a PGCE TESOL teaching course and then an MA TESOL. After several years of working with ESL writers I began to notice a preference towards helping them with their writing and started to create the Mr. Proofread service. The transition of an English teacher to an editor wasn't so difficult and I honestly believe that my past experience has helped me to find patterns in my clients' writing.

Work Experience

I have work experience in education and various business backgrounds, including the Manchester Evening News, a part of the Guardian Media Group. The past decade has been entirely dedicated to both teaching and editing English of varying levels. My last teaching position was as an English lecturer at Rotherham College in the UK. I've been an editor with Mr. Proofread since the beginning, and I love it!
